Career Areas

Medical Assistant
The Medical Assistant (MA) at Anne Arundel Dermatology is integral to providing quality patient care. Our Medical Assistants typically have 2 years prior medical experience and/or are a certified Medical Assistant. In addition, we require each MA to be a Certified Dermatology Technician, a certification received during the first 30 days of employment.

Medical Assistants will typically greet the patient and prepare them for their visit with the physician. They ask the patient about prior medical history and the reason for the visit.  They may assist the physician during the visit, such as prepping a surgical location or providing instruments during a procedure. Medical Assistants may also scribe for the physician – and capture relevant patient chart information.

Medical Receptionist
The Medical Receptionist serves as the face of our practice. They greet patients and check them in and out of the office. Our receptionists gather patient demographics, insurance information and co-pays. They may also assist patients in making follow-up appointments.

Call Center/Patient Coordinator/Scheduler
To assist with the scheduling of patients, Anne Arundel Dermatology has an external call center that takes appointments and patient requests Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Our Patient Coordinators answer incoming calls and assist patients with finding a provider and making an appointment.

Billing Coordinator
Anne Arundel Dermatology employs a large team of billing specialists and coordinators to bill and follow-up with claims. These members of our staff graciously and competently assist patients with payment arrangements and provide follow-up support to claims.

Nurse
We employ nurses in various capacities. While under the oversight of a physician, our nurses may work in a standard clinic setting administering treatments; or in providing cosmetic services.

Post Baccalaureate/Surgical Tech
The Anne Arundel Dermatology Surgery Centers employ numerous Pre-Med/Post Baccalaureate students seeking to complete 2000 clinical hours. These employees learn vital surgical skills under the supervision of our fellowship-trained MOHs surgeons.
