
Brenda King, NP
Brenda is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who received her undergraduate degree from Valdosta State University in her home state of Georgia. After graduation, she began her career working as an Intensive Care Nurse and transitioned to Transplant Nursing at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She attended the University of Virginia and received her master's degree in Nursing, and completed her Family Nurse Practitioner Certification. After graduation from UVA, she obtained a position in a Rural Health Clinic in Virginia, where she precepted UVA Nurse Practitioner students and participated in rural health research grants for the underserved. After 2 years, she was recruited back to VCU, where she helped establish Nurse Practitioners in the Emergency Department and Dermatology clinics.
Brenda has more than 25 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner with more than ten years in Dermatology. She has practiced in the university setting as well as private practice before joining Anne Arundel Dermatology. She provides services of surgical and general dermatology and sees patients of all ages. She diagnoses and treats skin conditions including acne, rosacea, eczema, warts, psoriasis, rashes and skin cancer. Her focus is on skin cancer prevention, education and early diagnosis and treatment of skin disorders.
She is Board Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is an active member of the Dermatology Nurses Association. She has spoken at Nurse Practitioner conferences as well as guest lectured for colleges and private practices. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as well as the Delaware Coalition of Nurse Practitioners.
