Mary Whitlock, RN, represented Anne Arundel Dermatology at the annual iS CANCER CARE SPA DAY, hosted by INNOVATIVE SKINCARE and the Washington Cancer Institute, on October 1.
At this very unique annual event, patients undergoing cancer therapy are treated to a day of pampering that includes facials, massages, paraffin treatments, and professional make-up application. They also receive physician and clinician education on nutrition, exercise, and skin care, all tailored to the special needs of patients undergoing cancer treatments.
Mary gave Harmony Facials to seven patients during the day and was clearly touched by the experience.
“It was wonderful to be able to help people and give them a little bit of pampering,” Mary said. “I can’t imagine the struggles these women have endured and it was awesome to know that this was a ‘bright spot’ in their day.”
