Ligaya Buchbinder Hershman, MD, FAAD, FASDS
Dr. Ligaya Buchbinder Hershman is a Board-Certified Dermatologist, certified by the American Board of Dermatology. She is a member and fellow of numerous local and national professional organizations to include, the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Buchbinder was born in the Philippines where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree through the endowment of a full academic scholarship from the National Science Development Board of the Philippines. She then attended medical school at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Medical Center, where she received her medical degree in 1981.
Dr. Buchbinder concluded her formal education with a Residency in General Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio., and a Residency in Dermatology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she was chief resident.
As part of her Dermatology training, Dr. Buchbinder studied with Dermatologist, Dr. Leon Goldman who is a pioneer in laser medicine, which includes the application of lasers in dermatology. In addition to receiving her certification in Laser Surgery, Dr. Buchbinder studied Mohs Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery under Dr. Jehuda Eliezri at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York.
Dr. Buchbinder has been practicing medical, surgical and aesthetic dermatology in Florida for over 25 years. While establishing her dermatology practice, she authored several books, developed and patented the aesthetic “Brow Shaver” and raised two wonderful children.
Dr. Buchbinder’s clinical skill-set is derived from her academic training combined with her dedication to quality dermatology care and treatment outcomes for her patients.
