Charlotte Smith Hand, MD
Dr. Charlotte Smith Hand is a board-certified dermatologist focusing on skin cancer prevention and detection as well as general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
A native of Wadley, Georgia, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Georgia, where she graduated summa cum laude. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon and Columbus, Georgia where she founded the Dermatology Specialty Interest Group. Dr. Hand graduated with honors from her medical school class and was an inductee of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
She completed one year of internal medicine and three years of dermatology residency training at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta during which she spoke at several regional and national conferences including the American Academy of Dermatology and the Georgia Congress of Clinical Dermatology. She has been published several times in national dermatology literature. Dr. Hand is trained in both adult and pediatric medical and surgical dermatology, and she stays up-to-date on the latest techniques and treatment options available for her patients through continuing medical education. Her interests include skin cancer prevention, diagnosis and surgical removal of skin cancer, rashes, acne, and cosmetic procedures.
