Peter Mattei, MD, FAAD, FACMS
Dr. Peter Mattei is excited to return to Carolina Skin Care. He is fellowship trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology and is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgeons. Dr. Mattei completed a Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship through the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons.
After graduation from Drexel University, College of Medicine, Dr. Mattei completed his dermatology residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and is a board-certified dermatologist. Before coming to Johns Hopkins, he conducted dermatology clinical trials research as a fellow at The Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Mattei is a proud veteran and served on active duty as a flight surgeon in the United States Air Force, where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Dr. Mattei has authored several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in the field of dermatology and dermatologic surgery.
Dr. Mattei has received numerous awards and recognitions during his time in the military and the field of dermatology. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Amercian College of Mohs Surgeons, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
