Anne Arundel Dermatology Hosts Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at New Kent Island Office

Anne Arundel Dermatology celebrated the opening of its new Kent Island office with an official “big scissor” ribbon cutting ceremony on November 9.

Ed Ponatoski, Anne Arundel Dermatology’s Executive Chairman and Senior Director of the Board; Steve Wilson and Mark A. Anderson, President and Member, respectively, of the Queen Anne’s County Board of County Commissioners; and Dr. Lisa Anderson, who leads the practice, each delivered remarks before joining forces to cut what was a surprisingly-stubborn ribbon.

Mr. Ponatoski started things off by posing the question that often comes up for a business founded in Anne Arundel County: “What’s Anne Arundel Dermatology doing in Queen Anne’s County?” He answered the rhetorical question himself, saying, “We’re here because we’re neighbors and we’re here to provide a service that folks need. We have two of the best clinicians in the entire state right here in Kent Island, and we’re very proud of the patient experience that they and their wonderful office staff provide. We’re very excited to improve the lives of Queen Anne’s County residents.”

Mr. Anderson, who disclosed that he and his wife are both patients of the Kent Island office, echoed Mr. Ponatoski in speaking to the quality of its clinicians and the importance of seeing them. “As a patient of this wonderful office I hope that anyone who’s listening, especially those within the large 50+ demographic of our county, will have their skin examined because things that are caught early never get to become serious problems,” said Mr. Anderson. “The physicians here know what to look for and you’ll be much better off for it.”

One of those physicians, Dr. Lisa Anderson, ended the speaking portion of the event by thanking Anne Arundel Dermatology for providing her and Amy Hoffman, the office’s PA-C, with such a great new space in which to treat patients, and her staff for helping make the transition to it so seamless.

Once the ribbon was cut and the doors were opened, members of the public enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and personal tours of the office by its clinicians and staff. Many current patients could be overheard remarking how bright and clean the office is, and all were very happy to leave with goodie bags including sunscreen and skin care products.
