Blueberry Skin Care Hacks – National Blueberry Month

July 11th, 2018

Blueberry Skin Care HacksJuly is National Blueberry Month! Did you know that blueberry skin care hacks have been used for years? Not only is this superfood especially tasty, blueberries have more antioxidants than most others foods. See how adding blueberries to your diet or skin care routine can help you live your best life.

Clears up skin: Blueberries have a high concentration of salicylic acid. Does this sound familiar? Salicylic acid is the main ingredient in many prescription and over the counter acne-fighting products. To make a quick treatment mask, add lemon juice and honey to mashed blueberries and apply to the skin. Leave it on for around 20 minutes and voila!

Improves hair: Blueberries can be used to promote hair growth and even prevent greys! Because blueberries also contain proanthocyanidins and vitamin B12, they are a great candidate to use on hair. Combine blueberry with olive oil to make a hair mask for yourself at home!

Great for weight loss: If you trying to lose weight or not, blueberries are a great snack. While they’ve been proven to have many health benefits, their high-fiber content will keep you full without feeling guilty. Try frozen blueberries for a refreshing summer treat!

This month, whether you’re eating blueberries or incorporating them into your beauty regimen, we hope you enjoy these nuggets of awesome! If you are struggling with a skin condition that blueberries can’t solve, we always recommend to see a clinician. To schedule an appointment, click here!
