Mikél Elizabeth Muse, DO
Dr. Mikél Elizabeth Muse grew up on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She attended Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland for her undergraduate degree in Public Health Studies. Dr. Muse then worked for several years as an HIV counselor at a homeless shelter and as an medical assistant in a Mohs surgery at Anne Arundel Dermatology in Annapolis, Maryland, where she initially became interested in pursuing a career in dermatology.
She attended medical school at Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, SC and Blacksburg, VA. Following medical school, Dr. Muse completed her transitional year of medicine training locally at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, NC. She completed research in dermatology at Wake Forest University with publications focusing on psoriasis, wart, and ulcer treatments. Dr. Muse completed her dermatology residency through Campbell University in Wilmington, NC. Her dermatologic interests include treating skin cancer, procedural dermatology, and volunteering with international health grassroots non-profit organizations in Africa.
Outside of dermatology, she enjoys hiking, painting, exploring Wilmington’s food scene, riding on her dad’s fishing boat, and walking her dog, Kiwi.
