Meet Cheryl

Cheryl Jones received her Master of Science from the University of Detroit Mercy and has been practicing dermatology for almost 3 decades. 

Before moving to North Carolina, Cheryl worked and trained with expert dermatologists and has treated a wide range of skin conditions. Her time in Michigan helped her develop a deep understanding of dermatological care and patient management. Cheryl was actively involved with the Michigan Dermatology Physician Assistants (MiDPA), where she was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the field. Notably, Cheryl was the founding president of MiDPA, where she played a pivotal role in establishing the organization and promoting the professional development of dermatology physician assistants in the state. 

In recognition of her contributions, the MiDPA established the Cheryl Jones Award, formerly known as the MiDPA PA of the Year Award. This award is presented to the physician assistant or nurse practitioner nominated and elected by his or her peers for outstanding work in the field over the past year. 

As a provider at Southern Dermatology in Raleigh, Cheryl is well-regarded for her compassionate care and thorough approach to patient treatment. In addition to her clinical work, she is committed to ongoing professional development and staying up to date with the latest advancements in dermatology. Cheryl’s patients appreciate her ability to explain conditions clearly and her dedication to ensuring they receive the best possible care.
