Meet Dr. Zaayman

Marcus Zaayman, MD, is a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon specializing in skin cancer treatment, reconstruction, and advanced dermatologic procedures. He earned his medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine after completing his undergraduate studies in biology at The University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Zaayman began his postgraduate training with two years of general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, before pursuing a two-year dermatology clinical research fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center under the mentorship of Dr. Alan Menter. He subsequently completed his dermatology residency at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas, where he served as Chief Resident from 2024 to 2025. 

Following residency, Dr. Zaayman completed a dual fellowship in Micrographic Surgery & Dermatologic Oncology and Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery under Dr. Daniel Rivlin and Dr. Shino Bay Aguilera in Miami, Florida. He is board certified in dermatology and has a particular clinical focus on tissue-sparing techniques, optimal oncologic outcomes, and cosmetically refined repairs. In addition to his expertise in Mohs surgery, Dr. Zaayman has a strong interest in cosmetic dermatology, including bio-rejuvenative and biostimulatory treatments designed to support natural, long-term aesthetic outcomes.  

His achievements have been recognized with numerous honors, including the VA Outstanding Resident Award, the Graduate Medical Education Scholarly Activity Travel Award, the Resident Teaching Award, and election to the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Zaayman is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Texas Dermatology Society, the American Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association.
