Anne Arundel Dermatology attended the Ocean Pines Community Health Fair, held at the Ocean Pines Community Center, for the first time on Saturday, October 7.

Dr. Timothy Pearson, who is now seeing patients at offices in both Salisbury and Ocean Pines, was one of multiple local dermatologists who donated their time to tell community residents and guests about their services and perform on-the-spot skin cancer screenings.

After encouraging attendees who had never had a skin cancer screening to get one and stressing the importance of early detection and treatment, Dr. Pearson saw 97 patients in just four hours. Even more importantly, he scheduled followup appointments with all 48 individuals whose skin presented some form of abnormality.

“These kind of outreach opportunities are incredibly valuable,” said Dr. Pearson. “They give me the chance to meet members of the community, talk to them about the many skin conditions that might be affecting them, and deliver potentially life-saving skin checks. As a new member of Anne Arundel Dermatology and the Lower Eastern Shore, I look forward to participating in many more events like this.”
