In January basal cell carcinoma was found in my scalp. (I had a lesion that didn't heal.) Surgery was ordered and my recovwry has been excellent. .

Had a great experience with my semi-annual check-up today. My usual provider has been on leave and the staff were able to rebook my appointment with Hillary Winkler, PA. I was promptly greeted by the office staff, and had barely sat down in the waiting area, when my name was called and I was taken to the exam room. The young man who took me back was very polite, friendly and professional. PA Winkler was also very prompt, friendly and professional. She did a thorough exam, took a biopsy and explained what would happen next. I am very pleased with the entire experience. I am totally satisfied with his medical examinations. However, trying to get in touch by phone became a horror show since he became part of the larger group. The first call said there was a 39 minute wait time. I was able to leave a message to be called later. I was unable to answer the return call, but a message was left on my machine. Unfortunately, the message started skipping and I could not hear all of the new phone number to be called. My second call soon got the recorded message announcing the wait time as one minute. It then kept repeating the one minute wait time message over and over and over. After 5 minutes of this, I hung up. On my third try, the recording said over and over and over that the wait time was the 8 minutes. After getting frustrated again, I was about to hang up when suddenly the call was answered--by a lady who sounded very, very bored with her job.

My daughter managed to basically tattoo herself on the face due to a mishap with a sharpened pencil. I called around to every derm office in the area who either didn't answer or had a 3+ month long wait list. This practice picked up and when I explained the situation managed to get my daughter a same-day appointment. I have been seeing Dr. Monica Valentin at the Fairfax Office of Anne Arundel Dematology for many years. Dr. Valentin is board certified in two specialties, Dermatology and Internal Medicine, and her thoroughness is appreciated. She is always friendly and kind, no matter how busy, and she and her PAs help you maintain good skin health including any necessary medical treatments, and annual or more frequent checks as necessary. The practice itself, and the Fairfax office, are extremely well run, including calendars, maintaining scheduling, billing, and communications. Unlike some other specialists' offices, in particular dermatology, while the practice is busy, there is rarely or never any kind of untoward wait, and the waiting room is therefore not full or crowded, because they maintain a disciplined calendar and don't overbook. Only the people right before you and the people right after you are generally there. While I have had only standard but important medical skin checks and treatments, they do offer spa care treatments, and for whatever reason Dr. Valentin ages in reverse so I would trust her in that regard if one were in that market.

Dr Harvey has done 2 Moh’s skin surgeries (for skin cancer) on me… one on my nose (down the whole center of my nose in a petal pattern) and one on my cheek. While the initial surgical incisions and stitches were shocking to see immediately after the surgeries, the final scars are barely visible.
