Meet Dr. Aamir Hussain

Aamir Hussain, MD, MAPP, is a dermatologist with Anne Arundel Dermatology in McLean, VA, where he provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, and Urdu, allowing him to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds and provide thoughtful, personalized care. 

Dr. Hussain earned his undergraduate degree in Government from Georgetown University and completed both his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Arts in Public Policy at the University of Chicago. He completed his internal medicine internship at Northwell Health/Hofstra University, where he was named Intern of the Year, and his dermatology residency at MedStar Health/Georgetown University in Washington, DC. 

His clinical interests include pediatric dermatology, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, skin of color, mast cell disease, psoriasis, vasculitis, and patch testing for allergic skin reactions. He is also passionate about medical education, mentorship, healthcare policy, and medical ethics. 

Dr. Hussain has been recognized as a Washingtonian Magazine Top Doctor in 2024 and 2025 and received Georgetown University School of Medicine’s String of Pearls Teaching Award in 2022 and 2023. He is active in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Contact Dermatitis Society, the American Medical Association, the Virginia Dermatologic Society, and the Crescent Dermatology Association. 

Dr. Hussain is nicknamed the “Pun-isher” due to his penchant for puns, and he enjoys infusing positive energy into his interactions with patients. Known for his warmth, positivity, and approachable sense of humor, Dr. Hussain strives to create a welcoming environment for every patient while delivering compassionate, evidence-based dermatologic care.
