Shivani Patel, MD

Dr. Shivani Patel graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double major in chemistry and psychology. She then graduated valedictorian of her medical school class at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she was elected president of the medical honors society Alpha Omega Alpha.

Dr. Patel completed her dermatology residency and pediatric dermatology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University and served as chief resident. During her training, she was awarded the Frank L. Coulson Jr. Award for Clinical Excellence in patient care.

Her medical areas of interest include infantile hemangiomas, vascular malformations, birthmarks, atopic dermatitis/eczema, moles, acne, psoriasis, genetic skin conditions, and skin cancers. She also received advanced laser training during her pediatric dermatology fellowship for the treatment of vascular birthmarks, including port-wine stains.

Dr. Patel is a board-certified dermatologist and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Society for Pediatric
Dermatology. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages.
